Gymminy Kid

Rowan started her gymnastics class! Unfortuntaley the lighting is not so great there, so the pictures are pretty dark and fuzzy, but I am planning to get some better ones!

Nana's Visit

Nana came to visit for 10 days, and we showed her lots of teh California sights! We went to the beach and Legoland. The girls both had "dates" with Nana, and Mommy even got a 1/2 day to do a little travelling down the coast with Nana!

Water Slide Birthday Fun

Birthday Party #2 was a wild ride! Gage's family rented an enormous water slide and all the kids wore themselves out! Rowan was a little too small for the ride, so she played in the kiddie pool instead. We had even more food, cake, and pinata!

Choo Choo Birthday Fun

We had a very festive weekend filled with two birthday parties on the same day! Cameron's birthday was train themed, so the kids all dressed like conductors for the party. We had pizza, cake, and of course a pinata!

Get This Boy a Tonka!

Poor Pierce is clearly the younger brother of two girlie girls! The only vehicle he has to play with is a Barbie car. Nevertheless, he loves to scoot it all around! At the top of his birthday wish will be a big Tonka truck!

A Camping We Will Go

The kids have been wanting us to put the tent up, so we got it out (after 6 years of being packed away), and they had a blast pretending to go camping.

The Boaz Family

We had some friends, the Boaz Family, from Indy who were on vacation give us a call when they were in California. We took all the kids out to eat at a Mexican restaurant in Carlsbad.

We then all headed to the beach to run around and jump in the waves.

After all the beach exercise, the kids were hungry for some Cold Stone Ice Cream.Here's Pierce in his usual demeanor - hanging out and happy - our little chill guy.

LaJolla

We've been making it our intention to continue to explore the beach towns around us, and here we are in LaJolla. It was the Sunday of the 4th of July weekend, so it was pretty busy. But we had a fun time looking around, and we grabbed some Mexican food and ice cream after spending time at the beach.

Pierce is beginning to really enjoy all sorts of big boy toys. Here he is riding his little car - Vroom! Vroom!

Happy Fourth of July

We had a great 4th of July. Our neighborhood had a block party with a huge jumpy, lots of food, some fireworks, and we even went for a swim in our neighbor's pool.

Date Time

Daddy has been spending special "date time" with both of the girls. Here are Daddy and Rowan getting ready for a morning at Legoland just the two of them.

Life is a Beach

I hate to even confess this, but we haven't been to the beach in so long. Here we live 15 minutes away, and we just haven't taken advantage of it the way we intend. During the summertime, it is super busy. We got to use to having the beach almost all to ourselves during the winter and spring, that showing up to the crowds was shocking! The kids of course have fun no matter what, so we plan to get back into the routine of going more often.
Hayden and Rowans' favorite part is jumping the waves with Daddy.

Pierce is really starting to get the whole "playing in the sand" concept.

Pierce can't quite resist putting fistfuls of sand in his mouth! Yuck!
